Monaco and Tamara worked with over 500 young people in Lebanon, including Syrian refugees, over the seven-month internship. Monaco’s project is to calculate the growth of forgiveness from activities designed to break the cycle of violence and revenge. They took a survey of participants and 64% said they would not take revenge after the Bridge Building session with Lebanese and Syrian kids. Monaco continues to work in Lebanon. She knows now that she is called to facilitate forgiveness in groups. She and Tamara created a forgiveness curriculum to be distributed to school teachers in Lebanon. Tamara is back home in Switzerland. She said, “God gave me this experience seeing what the people are going through and now I am responsible. I can’t act as if I am not aware. So This internship really changed me forever, I’m sure.”
